Free homebrewing calculators
The three numbers every brew day depends on: how strong the beer is, how much sugar to bottle with, and how hot your strike water should be. No account, no tracking nonsense — just the math.
ABV Calculator
Alcohol by volume from your OG and FG readings, plus attenuation and a calorie estimate.
Priming Sugar Calculator
How much corn sugar, table sugar, or DME to carbonate your batch — with bottle safety limits.

Frequently asked questions
What is the easiest way to calculate ABV?
Subtract your final gravity from your original gravity and multiply by 131.25. OG 1.050 and FG 1.010 gives (1.050 − 1.010) × 131.25 = 5.25% ABV. The ABV calculator also offers a more accurate alternate formula for stronger beers.
How much priming sugar per gallon of beer?
It depends on the style, batch size, and how cold the beer got after fermentation. A common middle ground is about 0.8–1 oz (23–28 g) of corn sugar per gallon for roughly 2.5 volumes of CO₂. Use the priming sugar calculator for an exact amount.
What temperature should strike water be?
It depends on grain temperature, target mash temperature, and water-to-grist ratio. A typical 152°F mash with room-temperature grain at 1.25 qt/lb needs strike water around 165°F. The strike water calculator does the exact math.
